Toni Goffe studied painting and illustration at Southampton College of Art in Hampshire between 1952-1956, gaining a National Diploma in Design. On completing the course, he moved to London where he freelanced as an illustrator within an advertising agency. Throughout this period, he continued to study painting with a number of private teachers and also started illustrating children's books on a freelance basis.

His landscapes and seascapes have won him great acclaim, with exhibitions both in the UK and Ireland. His work continues to be in much demand across the Home Counties as well as further afield. He received formal recognition for his work in 1993 when he received the Gold Medallion Book Award for his illustrations for the children's book, 'Just In Case You Ever Wonder'.
