Tony knew from an early age that, like his father, he wanted to be an artist. He graduated from art school with distinction and, on the advice of his parents wanting him to get a "real" job, spent the next 5 years working in advertising.

A passionate motor racing enthusiast, his subjects range from portraits to drawing planes, trains and military scenes, but it is capturing the speed of motor racing that takes up most of his time.

Since the sad death of his fellow artist and colleague, Terence Cuneo, he has introduced a small "trademark" animal into his own paintings. It is not the famous Cuneo Mouse, but a small and sometimes animated teddy bear, named Bertie.
